Ford has been experimenting with the Mustang formula for more than 60 years, but nothing else in that history looks quite like this. A one-off pickup conversion, built from an S550 fastback, just left the automaker's Experimental Vehicles Building for the first time.
Ford's US Heritage Fleet manager Matt Korczyk shared photos of the machine, finished in Cyber Yellow with a pickup-style bed grafted onto the rear. The reveal answers a question nobody outside Ford knew to ask: what happens when the EVB Metal Shop turns a pony car into a ute?
