For the first time in its history, Calcutta HC has 6 women judges on bench

KOLKATA: In a first, the Calcutta High Court will have six women judges presiding over proceedings at the same time.

The appointments of justices Ananya Bandyopadhyay and Rai Chattopadhyay as additional judges took the number to six on Wednesday. Justices Moushumi Bhattacharya, Shampa Sarkar, Amrita Sinha and Suvra Ghosh are already part of the HC bench.
