Liverpool booked their place in the Champions League final after a thrilling clash against Villarreal on Tuesday night.
The Reds claimed a 3-2 victory over the Spanish outfit in the second leg of their semi-final, to book a place in the final in Paris later this month.
Jurgen Klopp’s side initially trailed 2-0 thanks to early goals from Boulaye Dia and Francis Coquelin. But Liverpool responded in the second half, with goals from Fabinho, Luis Diaz and Sadio Mane seeing the visitors over the line.
Plenty of Spanish media outlets were in attendance to watch Liverpool beat Villarreal. Here is a selection of what they had to say.

“It is an achievement. What Villarreal have done in this Champions League season is football history.
“They are not going to play in the final. But what can be said about them, the example is huge. For everyone.
“Unai Emery is a genius, Raul Albiol is a titan, Pau Torres is a top-level centre-back, Etienne Capoue and Francis Coquelin are two warriors, Dani Parejo is elite, Giovani Lo Celso is a barbarity and Gerard Moreno is all those things.
“Villarreal won't be in the final because Liverpool are better. That's it, but the first half won't be forgotten by anyone. Not even by Jurgen Klopp himself. There's no way it could be.
“Luis Diaz ended the dream. He stepped onto the pitch and changed everything.
“The Colombian arrived at Liverpool a few months ago for around 50 million euros. And he is already looking cheap.
“His entrance onto the stage was definitive. He put fear into the hosts and scored one of those goals that takes you straight to Paris. He is tremendous and should be applauded.”

“It was Luis Díaz entering the break and changing the image of Liverpool as from night to day at the La Cerámica stadium.
“Jürgen Klopp sacrificed the Colombian from the start to give Diogo Jota entry but resorted to him in the second half due to the ineffectiveness of the Portuguese, unable to rebel against Villarreal's dominance until that moment.
“From the first moment he made an appearance on the pitch, Luis Díaz tried to change the dynamics of the goalkeeper. He did not come out unscathed from the four internships that he tried on the left wing against the firmness of Juan Foyth, but he was not satisfied.
“His mobility in attack was about to give him the opportunity to start the comeback with a failed bicycle kick and, after Fabinho scored, he sealed the tie by heading in a Trent Alexander-Arnold cross.
“It is his second goal in the Champions League with Liverpool after the one he achieved in Da Luz against Benfica in the quarterfinals (1-3).”

“Liverpool brilliantly turned the tables in a wild Champions League second leg semi final tie, with three goals in the space of 12 minutes after an incredible first period for Villarreal.
“Jurgen Klopp’s side snatched away the Yellow Submarine’s dream of a first ever Champions League final appearance, as they showed a trademark ruthlessness after the restart.
“Boulaye Dia’s first Champions League goal set the stage for Villarreal inside the first 90 seconds in Castellon, before French star Francis Coquelin showed fantastic desire to get on the end of a cross and head home a second goal just before the interval.
“However, with a potentially embarrassing exit on the cards for the Premier League giants, Klopp’s visitors completely flipped the script in the second 45 minutes.”

“Liverpool drowned. Not so much because of the rain that fell in Villarreal throughout the day, but because of the spaces that were found on the lawn of the La Cerámica Stadium . None during the first half. By the time the alarm went off, Dia had sent the ball into the net. Those of Klopp lacked air. “The pressure of their rival did not give them respite, and the dimensions of the field made the runs of their attackers useless. Not even an expert in measured passes like Thiago was right with the Madrigal 's measurements.
“With the tie tied, Emery 's men slightly lifted their foot off the accelerator. Enough for spaces to appear, and also Liverpool. With oxygen and with grass, the English were as lethal as in the first leg. They scored three times to avoid the scare. There was room for Fabinho to enter the area, as did Díaz , who scored six minutes later.
“Mané still found more ground to sentence the duel. Especially after Rulli 's desperate exit . Only one team has put Anfield on the ropes in this way. Only Villarreal. But only for 45 minutes.
“Insufficient to stop an intractable team like Liverpool, who will be in Paris . That he has the option of winning all the competitions in which he has participated this course. A team that wants to be historic.”
