An Everton fan has been banned from football matches for three years after shouting racial abuse.
Matthew Gillespie pleaded guilty to shouting racist insults towards a Leicester City fan, during the Everton vs Leicester City game at Goodison Park on Saturday, November 5, last year. Stewards were alerted to the incident by fans and the 32-year-old was arrested on suspicion of a racially aggravated public order offence during the match.
As well as the three-year football banning order, Gillespie, from Bebington, was ordered to pay a fine, costs and compensation.
