Football club makes huge change after trouble flares after match

Southport Football Club has been forced to take action as anti-social behaviour reportedly blighted their game against Gloucester City on Saturday.

The National League North side saw fans reportedly throwing stones at each other as well as at cars after the 1-0 loss at home on Saturday which has led to the rules around tickets changing for all future games. In a statement released by the club, it revealed all fans under the age of 16 going forward will need to be accompanied by an adult.

This decision comes after videos circulated online of fans clashing outside the stadium on Haig Avenue during their recent game on Saturday, April 1. The statement released by the club said: "In light of recent incidents at Haig Avenue, the club are unfortunately, and regrettably, left with no option other than to insist that all children aged 16 or below must be accompanied by an adult.
