Six fire engines were called to a house fire in Rochdale this morning.
Fire crews remain at Wesley Close in Smallbridge after being called to the scene at around 8am on Saturday (February 19) following reports of a property on fire.
When fire engines from Rochdale, Heywood, Littleborough, Chadderton, Hollins and Whitefield fire stations arrived at the scene, they found the two-storey house alight.
Photos taken at the scene show the devastating aftermath of the fire, where the front of the property has been left with severe fire damage.
Firefighters wearing breathing apparatus tackled the fire using a hose reel and an aerial platform.
Crews then damped down the scene and checked the surrounding properties for any further damage.
Crime Scene Investigators from Greater Manchester Police and search dogs from Lancashire Fire and Rescue Service were also in attendance.
The nature of the incident is not yet known and it has not yet been confirmed if there have been any casualties.
As fire crews continued their work at the scene this afternoon, there were reports of congestion and long queues of traffic on the nearby Halifax Road.
Crews were still in attendance as of 2pm this afternoon.
