CCTV footage of Ava White's killer on the night of her murder has been released following his sentencing.
At Liverpool Crown Court on Monday (July 11), Ava's killer - known as Boy A due to reporting restrictions - was locked up for life with a minimum term of 13 years. He had been found guilty of the murder of 12-year-old Ava, who was stabbed fatally on School Lane in Liverpool city centre on November 25, 2021.
Following the sentencing, Merseyside Police released footage of Boy A on the night of Ava's murder. The 30 second video shows three clips - Boy A running down School Lane following the stabbing, him entering a shop later that night and his arrest in a Merseyside Police custody suite.

During the trial, which concluded in May, Liverpool Crown Court heard that Boy A ran away after stabbing Ava. Prosecuting barrister Charlotte Newell, QC, said: "His reaction at the time was to smirk, to laugh and to run away, leaving Ava to die whilst he sought to distance himself from his actions."
The trial also heard that Boy A and some of his group stopped at a shop after the incident, in order to buy butter for crumpets. They entered the shop, where he and another arranged their hair before taking a selfie.
During the trial's closing arguments Ms Newell said Boy A couldn’t admit he had killed Ava initially, as: “Otherwise it would expose his callous disregard for Ava, taking selfies, eating crumpets and playing Call of Duty, knowing he had stabbed her.”
Boy A was arrested and charged with Ava's murder on November 28. He originally told police he was not in the city centre on the evening of Ava’s death and was at a friend’s house playing Call Of Duty on a PlayStation 4.
However, he admitted being in the city centre in his second police interview, once he was shown CCTV footage. He later admitted being responsible for stabbing Ava, but claims he was acting in self-defence.
On May 24, 2022, he was convicted of murder by unanimous verdict. Today, he was locked up for life with a minimum term of 13 years
