Footage of star-struck mascots ahead of Liverpool's Champions League meeting with Ajax on Wednesday evening has a emerged.
Jurgen Klopp's side put in a professional performance in the Dutch capital to book their place in the last-16 of Europe's elite competition, with goals from Mohamed Salah, Darwin Nunez and Harvey Elliott helping the team on their way to victory.
It was a match which saw Reds defender Virgil van Dijk reunite with a number of familiar faces as he went head-to-head against some of his international team-mates. Greetings were exchanged between the towering centre-back and members of Ajax's squad as the teams waited to emerge to emerge from the players' tunnel shortly before kick-off.

A special moment then occurred as the two teams made their way out, accompanied by young mascots who had their eye on one individual in particular: Van Dijk. In the following video clip, three youngsters within close proximity to the 31-year-old can be seen repeatedly turning around to catch an up-close glimpse of their national hero.
One boy, stood in front of the Reds' No.4, could not believe his luck after receiving a double thumps up from the defender and was left open-mouthed after being acknowledged by the former Southampton star.
Several Reddit users have provided their own reaction to this heartwarming footage, with one individual stating: "I was 35 when I met him few years ago. The reaction I had, my wife still makes fun of me. She is like, I have never blushed so hard about anybody - not even her lmao. The man is absolutely charismatic - unrelated to football."
"The Dutch are used to having many legends, but this past few years there's kinda only Virg," added a separate Reddit account. "Love this, buzzing isn’t he," a third person said.
