Footage has emerged of Billy Koumetio’s stunning goal for Liverpool Under-21s last night.
The Reds defender scored a long-range strike in the young Reds’ Premier League International Cup victory over Paris Saint-Germain on Wednesday evening. Marc Bridge-Wilkinson’s side claimed a 4-2 win at Kirkby.
Koumetio scored Liverpool’s opening goal of the match in the ninth minute, with his strike coming from inside his own half. Luke Chambers then converted a penalty before Koumetio scored a more conventional goal shortly before half time to double his tally.

Oludare Olufunwa then scored Liverpool’s fourth goal to make it 4-0, before PSG added two late consolations. But it was Koumetio's first strike which got people talking.
A video shared on Twitter by journalist Neil Jones shows Koumetio's goal in full. The centre-back can be seen receiving the ball from his defensive partner just inside his own half, before launching a long-range strike which wrong-footed the goalkeeper and flew into the net.
Koumetio spent the first half of the season on loan with Austria Vienna, but was recently recalled by the Reds. The 20-year-old had only made five league appearances during his stint, with his most recent coming back in September.
Prior to returning to Liverpool, Koumetio mainly featured for the Austrian club’s reserve team in the second tier. He has, though, played in the Austrian Cup and Europa Conference League this term.
