Foodies praise 'brilliant' air fryer hack that makes 'perfect' Yorkshire puddings

The Sunday roast is a staple of British cuisine and it's not just the meat that's the star of the show.

Amidst the piles of crispy roasties and lashings of gravy, the classic Yorkshire pudding remains one of the most crucial side dishes of the notable meal and is even the highlight for some diners. The puffy pastries are easy enough to make, but Manchester Evening News reports one tip to make the cooking process even simpler has made waves online.

TikTok users have taken to making the puddings from scratch in the air fryer and the trend has become so popular that the term Yorkshire Pudding has over 172m views on the platform. One user that is well known on the app's FoodTok section is @nannabea and she has shared her air fryer pudding recipe with her 1.4 million followers.

In the clip which has a staggering 5.9m views on TikTok, she places individual pudding pots into the fryer basket that are lined with butter. Answering comments wondering where she got them from, one viewer Michael suggested “You can get ‘Pudding basins’ on Amazon.”

Nanabea, who’s real name is Bev Stewart from Keighley in West Yorkshire, then poured in equal amounts of her mix. She listed her Yorkshire pudding mix as using “1 cup flour, 1 cup milk, and 1 cup eggs” and cooked in her air fryer at 170C for 20 minutes.

The grandmother of four then revealed her perfect puds which viewers were obsessed with. Even actor John Barrowman commented on nanabea’s video saying: “This is brilliant!!”

One user called it “Air fryer magic” while Gemma called the puds “Perfection!” Meredith thought this way of doing Yorkshire puddings was just “Brilliant!”

Salma commented saying the puddings would pair perfectly “With lashings of Bisto gravy.” Chezzierez joked: “Those look awful and you should send them all to me and if you make more I want those too!”
