Foodie shares perfect Ramadan breakfast idea that only takes 'five minutes' to prepare

If you're searching for delicious breakfast recipes you can prepare in minutes during Ramadan, then look no further. A foodie has shared a genius recommendation that's perfect for anyone looking to fuel quickly but who doesn't want to miss out on flavour.

As you'd expect from the name, the mango overnight oats recipe can be prepared in advance, meaning it's great for people who are fasting.

Simply set aside five minutes to ready your brekkie in the evening, then it will be ready and waiting for you when it is time for your meal before sunrise.

Created by @zaynahsbakes as part of her popular 'Ramadan Recipes' series, it is well worth a try.

"During Ramadan it's so important to fuel yourself with lots of carbohydrates, fibre and water during Suhoor / Sehri. Prepare these yummy mango overnight oats in 5 minutes the evening before to make breakfast as easy as possible. Just wake up and eat!" Zaynah recommended when she shared the recipe on Instagram.

Like the method, the ingredients are simple. You'll need:

  • 1 cup oats
  • 1 cup yoghurt

  • 1/4 cup milk

  • 1 tbsp honey

  • 1/4 cup basil seeds (soaked in 1 cup water)

  • 1/2 mango, diced

  • 1/2 cup crunchy granola

As Zaynah explains: "Start by making the base of the overnight oats which is porridge oats, yogurt, milk and honey.

"Then simply layer everything up into your bowls: the oats, fresh mango, basil seeds, crunchy granola, and almonds on the top."

She adds: "Prepare these the night before so breakfast is as easy as possible for you when you're waking up for Suhoor at 3 or 4am."

But if you're not a fan of overnight oats, then Zaynah has also created a recipe for freezer breakfast burritos. Made with vegetarian sausages, red onions, peppers, and scrambled eggs, the delicious dish is protein-filled. The full details of this meal and Zaynah's other recipes are available on her Instagram.
