Food, Inc. 2 Trailer Released: Timely Follow-Up To Award-Winning Documentary

Beef industry - Meat industry slaughterhouse and food processing

More than a decade after the release of the critically acclaimed documentary 'Food, Inc.,' Magnolia Pictures has unveiled the trailer for its highly anticipated sequel, 'Food, Inc. 2.' The original film, which garnered an Oscar nomination and maintains an impressive 95 percent score on Rotten Tomatoes, shed light on the complexities of the American food system.

In 'Food, Inc. 2,' directors Robert Kenner and Melissa Robledo reunite with renowned authors Michael Pollan and Eric Schlosser to delve deeper into the issues plaguing our food industry. The trailer hints at the timeliness and urgency of the sequel, emphasizing the impact of the COVID-19 pandemic on food production and distribution.

Michael Pollan, known for his book 'The Omnivore's Dilemma,' raises thought-provoking questions in the trailer, highlighting the vulnerabilities of our current food system. Meanwhile, Eric Schlosser draws attention to the disparities between food waste and shortages, painting a stark picture of the challenges faced by both producers and consumers.

The film also features appearances from U.S. Senators Jon Tester and Cory Booker, who express their concerns about the state of agriculture in America. Tester advocates for the revitalization of rural communities, while Booker stresses the importance of not subsidizing practices that harm public health.

'Food, Inc. 2' aims to uncover the unchecked corporate consolidation within the food industry, revealing a system focused solely on maximizing profits at the expense of public health and sustainability. The documentary introduces viewers to a diverse range of voices, including innovative farmers, food producers, workers' rights activists, and legislators working towards positive change.

Viewers can catch 'Food, Inc. 2' in select theaters starting April 9, with a digital release following on April 12. The sequel promises to spark important conversations about the future of our food system and the actions needed to create a more equitable and resilient industry.
