Food and drink events taking place across Northern Ireland in 2022

The growing food and drink scene across Northern Ireland is something to marvel at as there truly is something for everyone.

From scooping World’s Best Food Destination accolades to Michelin Stars in Belfast, our local culinary landscape doesn’t stand still when it comes to food and drink innovation.

This year, there are plenty of tasty events, foodie festivals and quirky gastronomic experiences that you’ll not want to miss on your doorstep.

Discover Northern Ireland has put together a snap-shot of mouth-watering events for your calendar:

Paddle and Pizza on Strangford Lough, Co Down - throughout 2022

This is most definitely a day out with a difference. You can gobble up guilt-free pizza after working up your appetite and burning the calories on stunning Strangford Lough, what more could you ask for?

Whether you are a beginner or a well-versed stand-up paddleboarder, you will be taught to master the basics of staying afloat with the help of your instructor Joe, as you take in the scenery around the beautiful Ballymorran Bay.

After this, you will take a two-minute stroll to Tracey’s Farmhouse Kitchen where the aroma of freshly cooked pizzas will welcome you to her cosy home as you get warm and well-fed by the wood-burning stove.

Enjoy homemade pizza prepared by Tracey and Joe in their alfresco pizza oven, along with fresh salads using produce grown in their garden, topped off by a delicious dessert to indulge in.

The Irish Vegan Festival, Belfast - April 10

Veganism has grown hugely in popularity in recent years.

Whether you are a vegan veteran or very new to the game, or even just a part-timer or interested in it, you need to get yourself to The Irish Vegan Festival in The Europa Hotel in Belfast.

Now in its 8 th year, there will be a staggering showcase of vegan products, from vegan dishes, cakes and desserts, as well as housewares and bath and beauty products.

With many of the products coming straight from local Northern Ireland suppliers including renowned restaurants and cafes as well as popular shops and traders, there is certainly lots for everyone to enjoy. For the health-conscious, the event also hosts a realm of informative talks, film screenings and advice on health and nutrition.

Have you been thinking about a city break? Get a taste for the city (quite literally) on Far and Wild’s Foodie City Cycle.

If you’ve got an appetite for discovering great food and learning about local culture too, this is the tour for you.

On your guided cycle tour, you’ll take in two great, mouth-watering culinary experiences. With a focus on quality local produce, Far and Wild’s culinary partners vary with the seasons.

That way you know there are only the freshest, in-season dishes waiting for you at each stop.

Between stops, you will be guided through the city and along the River Foyle, all at a leisurely pace.

Your cycle includes a historic view of St. Columb’s Park, a spin through Ebrington Square, over the Peace Bridge and under the Walls into the inner city.

The Enniskillen Taste Experience showcases the culinary delights local businesses have to offer and will enchant customers with a memorable experience, as you are served an array of nibbles, along with a few alcoholic beverages.

The popular tour starts at Enniskillen Castle where customers are gently guided around the Island town meeting local producers and suppliers.

You can sample Joe the Baker's sourdough, Pat O’Doherty’s famous black bacon, Tickety Moo Ice cream, Boatyard Gin, Sharon’s mouth-watering scones, and even Innishmacsaint beer.

Finish on a high at the fantastic 28 At the Hollow where head chef and owner Glen Wheeler produces beautiful food to ensure you leave feeling full and satisfied.

Taste and Tours, Belfast - throughout 2022

This is the year to tick the award-winning original Belfast Food Tour off your bucket list.

A must for foodies, this tour takes you on a 4-hour fun and food-filled guided walk to some top food and drink spots around Belfast City Centre.

A fantastic family fun day out, you will be inspired by cookery demos from leading chefs and make sure you leave room to sample the artisan produce on offer.
