AUGUSTA, Ga. — If you can’t watch Tiger Woods during the second round of the 2023 Masters, don’t worry, we’ve got you covered.
The 15-time major champion is back at Augusta National this week with a pair of records on his mind, one more in reach than the other. Woods’ quest for a record-tying sixth green jacket took a hit on Thursday after a 2-over 74 in the opening round left him nine shots behind the trio of leaders Brooks Kopeka, Viktor Hovland and Jon Rahm.
If Woods, 47, can find a way to make the weekend cut, he’ll tie the record for most consecutive cuts made at the Masters with 23 to join Gary Player and Fred Couples. The 82-time winner on the PGA Tour has never missed the cut at the Masters as a professional since his debut in 1997 (he was low amateur in 1995 and missed the cut in 1996 as an amateur).
Woods tees off at 12:54 p.m. ET on Friday afternoon alongside Hovland and Xander Schauffele. Follow every shot of Tiger’s second round below with shot-by-shot updates from Augusta National.

Hole 1 - Par 4: Tea Olive
Showtime at Augusta. Tiger avoids the bunkers down the right side for the second consecutive day with driver and this one just checks up before running into the rough down the left side. He had a good angle at the back hole location and found the green, but left a lengthy look at birdie from just inside 40 feet.
He left a lot of putts short yesterday but that wasn’t the case here on the first. Had plenty of speed to get to the hole but just didn’t match the line. Cleans up his par and we’re on to the next one.
TIGER ON THE DAY: Even through 1 (2 over for the tournament)
Hole 2 - Par 5: Pink Dogwood
First par 5 of the day and Tiger needs to capitalize on these holes today if he has a shot to play the weekend. With incoming weather and wind, the pressure is on to get going sooner rather than later.
Driver here goes down the left side of the fairway but runs into the rough, leaving a tricky second shot that will most likely be a low-flying punch up the fairway to set up a chance to get up-and-down for an early birdie.
Well this was fun. He took a big cut at this one and had some serious body turn to send his ball around the trees and up the fairway. Useful layup will 100 yards on the button to the back-left hole location guarded by a bunker to the front. He needed to get cheeky with this one but landed it a pace or three too far on the green. His ball took a hop off the back edge and didn’t have the traction to spin back to the green.
Putting from off the green Tiger gave this a ton of room to break and left a three-footer to clean up for par. Not bad given the tee shot, but he certainly had a shot to score.
TIGER ON THE DAY: Even through 2 (2 over for the tournament)
Hole 3 - Par 4: Flowering Peach
Iron off the tee here for Tiger on the short par 4 and this one is right down the middle. Nobody is smarter than the Big Cat when it comes to playing Augusta and he’s won five green jackets for his conservative/efficiently aggressive approach. You take chances when you get them here, you can’t force the issue.
Still doesn’t have his wedges dialed. This one from 109 yards out finds the green and just clings to the edge. I mean this was inches from racing off the false front a good 15-20 yards. Nothing to see here, lags his putt to a foot or two and cleans up his par. Like Ariana Grande says, thank u, next.
TIGER ON THE DAY: Even through 3 (2 over for the tournament)
Hole 4 - Par 3: Flowering Crab Apple
First par 3 of the day, let’s see how the irons are feeling, shall we? Tiger juiced this one off the tee and it rolls off the back edge, leaving a 33 footer for birdie with a considerable amount of the fringe between him and the green. Pace will be tricky from there.
Looked good off the face but as soon as it hit the green it took off and ran eight feet past the cup, leaving his first true knee-knocker test to save par. No doubt about this one, wasn’t timid with the stroke at all and his putt found the center and bottom of the cup. Big, big time putt there to keep the card clean.
TIGER ON THE DAY: Even through 4 (2 over for the tournament)
Hole 5 - Par 4: Magnolia
Tiger immediately points to the right as his ball cut from the right side of the fairway into the gallery of patrons alongside ropes in the rough. Still early but his driver isn’t nearly as hot as it was early in Thursday’s round. From the pine straw he got some really clean contact and was able to find the green from 200-plus yards out, landing on the front-right portion and leaving a 40-footer for birdie.
With the pin on a plateau with steep slopes surrounding all sides, this was never going to be an easy putt. Just didn’t have the right speed going uphill to the hole and that leaves yet another long par save. He did it again! Smooth stroke here saves par and the card remains clean despite some sticky situations.
TIGER ON THE DAY: Even through 5 (2 over for the tournament)
Hole 6 - Par 3: Juniper
Tiger missed the green on the first par 3 of the day but went flag hunting here on No. 6. Nearly hit the pin with this one and left just seven feet for a much-needed birdie to jumpstart this round and break the streak of par saves. Oh wow. How did that one miss?! Tiger just slides this past the cup and taps in for par. Talk about a missed opportunity. He’s currently flirting with the cutline, and that missed birdie could be crucial 11 holes later today.
TIGER ON THE DAY: Even through 6 (2 over for the tournament)
Hole 7 - Par 4: Pampas
Cut this one a bit too much and the left-to-right movement led to a massive kick to the right. His ball found the pine straw and from there all he could do was punch a shot down the fairway in front of the green, let’s say 40-50 yards away. Tiger still isn’t on the green with his third as this one runs off the back edge. From there he clipped a chip pretty well but instead of a par save, that’ll be for bogey, his first dropped shot of the day.
TIGER ON THE DAY: 1 over through 7 (3 over for the tournament)
Hole 8 - Par 5: Yellow Jasmine
Tiger is now outside the cut line and is quest to tie the record for consecutive made cuts at the Masters is in jeopardy. He made birdie here yesterday but this drive won’t help duplicate that effort today. He’s overcooking fades like its his job and this was more of the same.
If he doesn’t make birdie from here, it’s just not in the cards today. A perfect layup shot leaves Tiger 17 yards in front of the pin with plenty of green to work with. This was classy. Aims left and lets the ball land on the green and curl towards the cup. Tiger just had a few feet left for his first birdie of the day, but the horn has sounded and as of 3:07 p.m. ET and play has been suspended.
Just 20 minutes later the players were back on the course and Tiger made his birdie. That was fast. Back inside the cut line. Onward we go.
TIGER ON THE DAY: Even through 8 (2 over for the tournament)
Hole 9 - Par 4: Carolina Cherry
After the brief delay Tiger made birdie then hit an absolute bomb off the tee. That’s 343 yards down the fairway to leave just 115 yards to the pin. Can he go full Drake mode and go back-to-back?
Nope. I mean, this is some tough, tough luck. Tiger landed this one on the green within 10 feet of the pin, but he needed a few more inches to hold position. His ball started to trickle away from the cup down a slope and it ran all the way off the green to leave 35 yards to the pin. Time to get up-and-down again, and he does just that with a real nifty chip to set up a tap-in par. Should’ve been birdie. Another missed shot.
TIGER ON THE DAY: Even through 9 (2 over for the tournament)
Hole 10 - Par 4: Camellia
Sat back with a 3-wood here off the tee and ripped one down the left side of the fairway. This one got a huge kick down the fairway and ran out a strong 330 yards. From there Tiger lost this one a bit right of his line but is still on the green, pin-high with a look at birdie from 34 feet.
Not a bad effort from there as he misses low and short but will leave just a kick in for par. Had some good pace but that was one of those more defensive putts that we saw quite a lot of yesterday. Still, no damage done. What was that old MTV dating show? Next.
TIGER ON THE DAY: Even through 10 (2 over for the tournament)
Hole 11 - Par 4: White Dogwood
Think Tiger may be feeling a sense of urgency here because he’s really stepping on the gas for these tee shots after the delay. This one went 336 yards down the left side but he absolutely blew the approach, missing the green to the right. He was visibly upset after this one and for good reason. He had no business missing this green.
From the bottom of the slope off the front of the green he did well to pitch this one up towards the hole, but couldn’t get it to check up any closer than seven feet. Like he has three times before, he made the lengthy par putt to avoid a costly bogey.
Oh yeah, and the horn went off again for the second weather delay of the round, this one at 4:22 p.m. ET.
