Folarin Balogun has already told Arsenal what he wants ahead of Mikel Arteta choice

Folarin Balogun has enjoyed a productive season on loan in Ligue 1, with the on loan Reims striker currently topping the French league's scoring charts ahead of the likes of Lionel Messi and Kylian Mbappe.

Balogun's performances are exciting for Arsenal fans, with the England U21 striker impressing having scored 14 goals for a Reims side which has now gone 14 matches unbeaten under the management of 30-year old Englishman Will Still. The long-term future of Balogun will now be up for debate, with Eddie Nketiah and Gabriel Jesus already in the first team.

However, he has already given a strong hint as to where his future lies with potential suitors sure to be taking a closer look at the Hale End Academy graduate. The forward, who is also eligible to play for the USA, gave an interview with French outlet L’Equipe earlier in the season where he revealed his ambitions with the club.

Balogun said in an interview: “Arsenal is my family. For me, the club represents brotherhood and unity.

Adding that he wants to compete for a starting place in Mikel Arteta's side, Balogun said: “I think by the time I go back I’ll be in a better place to compete than I was before I left. I realised there were certain things I would struggle with, but I think that’s a good thing.”

The 21-year-old is now the joint fourth top scorer in Europe's tip five leagues, with his 14 goals coming in just 18 starts and leaving him level on the scoring charts with Barcelona's Robert Lewandowski. At present, only Victor Osimhen, Harry Kane and Erling Haaland can better his tally and whatever happens in Arsenal's pursuit of the Premier League title the future looks bright in North London.
