Folarin Balogun drops huge hint of 'crunch' Arsenal talks with cryptic three-word message

Arsenal and Folarin Balogun are set to part ways this summer despite the striker's hugely impressive season away in France with Stade Reims.

The 21-year-old scored 21 Ligue 1 goals last campaign, adding millions to his value and earning him a place for the USMNT. Balogun made his debut in the Nations League semi-final win over Mexico earlier this month before opening his account three days later against Canada.

With two years remaining on his current contract at the Emirates Stadium, Balogun is expected to end his 15-year stay at Arsenal. He is set to be Mikel Arteta's fourth-choice striker, behind Gabriel Jesus, Eddie Nketiah and now Kai Havertz - though the German could take up a role in midfield.

Interest has continued to grow regarding the United States international. Serie A trio Napoli, AC Milan and Inter Milan are all monitoring his situation, with Marseille and AS Monaco impressed with performances in France last term.

"What I can say is that I definitely won't go on loan again," he said while on international duty. "I'm not sure on the discussions that are going to take place. I'm not sure what's going to happen. But I'm just committed to now, I try to stay present. I obviously want to enjoy the moment with my team and my family."

Now, Balogun has teased supporters that a decision over his future could be close. Writing on Twitter at 6am UK time, he wrote: "It is time!" It is also worth noting the location of the tweet indicates the 21-year-old is back in England, more specifically Enfield - 10 miles from London Colney.

Back in April, it was reported that the striker and Arsenal would hold crunch talks over his future in the summer. It's understood that he will push for a move should he not be guaranteed opportunities next season.

Arsenal's first team will gradually return to training next week for pre-season. After Balogun's involvement at international level two weeks ago, it's unlikely that he will return just yet.

Should no move come to fruition, Balogun could be involved in the Gunners' pre-season trip to the United States in July.
