Fnatic have announced the signing of Ukrainian rifler Viktor “Br4tkO” Kondratets from Lazer Cats to their roster. The 18-year-old will replace the outgoing Pavle “maden” Bošković, leaving Freddy “KRIMZ” Johansson as the sole non-Ukrainian on the roster.
Who is Br4tkO? Fnatic’s new rifler
The incoming player, Br4tkO, is one who may not have popped on tier one viewers’ radars in recent months. Playing with Lazer Cats, the player has averaged a mere 1.05 rating over the last year. But that number does put him comfortably above maden’s paltry 0.98, even with some consideration for the slightly different level of opposition.
According to Skybox Edge‘s data, the player shines in rotation roles (Anubis’ connector, Ancient’s cave, etc.) but also takes some anchor spots as the large site anchor. The two players have similar playstyles in terms of their opening attempts and KD, though some concessions will have to be made on the Fnatic side to make sure the youngster is comfortable in his roles.

Maden dropped after just three months
The former ENCE, Heroic, and Falcons player now finds himself on the Fnatic bench, just months after the organization initially signed him as a replacement for the outgoing Benjamin “blameF” Bremer. During his time on Fnatic, Maden averaged a 0.98 rating, with the Macedonian changing his roles on nearly every map during his stint. That instability, along with inconsistency from the team’s primary stars obviously played a role in his underperformance, even if Maden can not entirely be absolved of blame in that regard.
His highs, particularly in CS:GO, made him one of the most desirable supportive elements for any squad. But after a disastrous Falcons stint, and now an underwhelming Fnatic one, his stock may be at an all time low. If he can find his way onto a tier 2 squad with young stars, Maden could easily be the one to elevate them to a higher level. But exactly who that squad could be, especially given his existing contract with Fnatic, remains to be seen.
Fnatic will be heading to the BC.Game Masters Championship in Bucharest, Romania, with the team’s first match being against the Romanian team of aimclub. Can the Ukranian quartet carry them to a deep run in a field with teams like the new-look G2, Heroic, and even the global Passion UA squad?
