Bendigo residents can fly to Sydney for as little as $145 as part of a 72-hour sale from the national carrier.
It's an early Christmas present for Bendigo flyers as plane fares to Sydney could normally cost more than double that price.
Qantas has dropped a massive sale on over one million seats across Australia from the Christmas period and into 2025 with some domestic economy fares starting at $105 one way.
Get in quick
Travellers could snap up a bargain for travel between December 24, 2024 and September 18, 2025, with dates across Christmas and school holidays included in the sale.
The sale is for 72 hours only, until 11.59pm on November 14, 2024, unless sold out prior, so be quick.
Flights are on sale across 60 destinations including fares under $150 from Melbourne to Gold Coast and Launceston to Melbourne.
Qantas is the only domestic carrier in Australia that builds checked baggage, food and beverages, and Wi-Fi into the cost of its tickets.
Some of the one-way economy flights on sale include:
- Melbourne to Gold Coast - $129
- Bendigo to Sydney - $145
- Hobart to Melbourne - $149
- Adelaide to Kingscote Airport (Kangaroo Island) - $149
- Adelaide to Port Lincoln - $149
- Canberra to Melbourne - $169
- Melbourne to Perth - $309
- Ballina to Sydney - $109
Meanwhile, Australia's national airline carrier has denied hoarding flight slots at Sydney Airport, during a parliamentary enquiry examining legislation proposing reforms for flights at Sydney Airport.
When to fly over Christmas
December 22 is the most expensive day to fly across all airlines from Sydney to Melbourne in December 2024, according to travel insurance company Compare the Market.
If you're flying out of Sydney, Melbourne, Brisbane and Wellington, flights are generally cheaper from December 3 to 5, and 10 to 13, the organisation said.
Travellers can also save money by flying to select destinations in Australia and New Zealand from the four cities on December 31, Compare the Market advised.
