This 'bonkers' fluffy cat car has gone on sale for £2,500 - leaving potential buyers joking it would need 'shampoo and flea treatment' due to its bizarre furry exterior. The creatively-modified 2004 Silver Ford Streetka is currently advertised on Auto Trader and boasts a thick faux fur exterior, with feline eyes, ears and whiskers.
The light grey coat covers every inch of the car apart from its wheels and roof - and even boasts a long tail on the boot. After images of the £2,489 'luxury' two-door convertible were posted on social media, users joked the vehicle would need a course of Frontline Spot On flea treatment - as its eye-catching thick hair was open to the elements.
Fran Taylor, who blogs as Whinge Whinge Wine on Facebook, posted about the unusual car to more than 64,000 followers - joking that it would need a 'shampoo and brush'. She wrote: "Just what we all need. A car we have to shampoo and brush out. Bit embarrassed for the person that's done 91,000 miles in this."
She then added: "It would cost a fortune in nit lotion." Other commenters joked it looked like it needed taking 'to the groomers' and suggested it was even worse than the car 'eyelash' craze.
One follower said: "Did they appear on Pimp my Ride to get this done?" While another said: "Don't be silly - just take it to the groomers."
One driver added: "Does it come with a Frontline programme or what? Another commenter said: "Is this still available? Also, how often does it need [deflead]?"
The car was part of a Bangers 4 Ben event in October and had been driven to Monaco from Dover to raise money for the automotive industry charity Ben. The 'Ford KAt' was designed and built by Joel Coombes and Ian Gardener, from the company Lawgistics, to take part in the charity drive, which was named 'Bangers does Bond'.
The quirky vehicle was part of a team of 30 cars that drove from Dover to Monaco in four days with each of the cars based around the James Bond theme.
