Floyd Mayweather shows off huge wads of cash during shopping spree in Japan

Floyd Mayweather filmed himself counting out a huge wad of cash when paying for a luxury watch during a shopping spree in Japan.

The boxing legend is currently in Japan ahead of his fourth exhibition outing this weekend against native MMA fighter Mikuru Asakura. His latest boxing showcase will represent another lucrative payday, with the former undefeated champion claiming he will be paid $20million for just nine minutes of ring action this weekend.

And Mayweather has been flaunting his shopping sprees around the area and posting his exploits to social media. During his second time in the country, Mayweather has posted a video of himself on Instagram purchasing a plush new watch from a luxury jeweller in the area near his hotel, with the caption: "Shopping and counting cash is part of my daily routine!!"

He picked up a Audemars Piguet watch from a luxury jeweller in which he paid for with a thick wad of cash, that was carefully counted out with the supervision of the shopkeeper. In the video, a Louis Vuitton designer bag can also be seen with a host of other jewellery positioned on the till, before Mayweather utters to the camera: "Living life and having fun. That is what we do."

His latest shopping spree is unsurprising with Mayweather given the 'Money' nickname he chose during his time in boxing as he earned lucrative purses and boasted of his luxury lifestyle. The 47-year-old has estimated himself that his own net worth is around $1.2billion but that is likely to continue to rise while he earns big pay cheques.

Since earning a huge pay cheque for his final professional outing, Mayweather has continued to earn big purses including a guaranteed $9m for his first exploit in Japan against kickboxer Tenshin Nasukawa. Last June, he squared off with YouTube star Logan Paul in a high-profile bout which is expected to have earned him a huge $65m wealth boost for the eight-rounds.

Most recently he claimed that he may have earned another $100m for his entertaining clash with former sparring partner Don Moore, but it is expected he only walked away with around $10m. Many have suggested Mayweather is "broke" including former rival Paul's brother Jake but the former 50-0 professional has alleged that he earns a mega $300 million every month.

"I will continue to give back to the sport of boxing in my time, and I will also give back financially because I got it,” Mayweather said after being named in the International Boxing Hall of Fame. "In 32 months, I put myself in a position with a smart business team to make $300m a month. It all started from the sport of boxing.”
