Floyd Mayweather hits out at Logan Paul as ring legend announces next opponent

Floyd Mayweather has promised an "explosive" fight against Don Moore - unlike his clash with Logan Paul.

Mayweather and Paul met over eight rounds in an exhibition bout last summer with no official winner announced at the final bell. The ring legend will return to action next month when he takes on Moore on a helipad in Dubai.

The pair will meet over eight rounds on May 14 in what will be Mayweather's third exhibition bout. And despite Moore's less than stellar career which saw him face 19 opponents with losing records, Mayweather insists his rival will pose a challenge.

"Don will come to fight. It's a little different; Don is going to come to fight and may the best man win," he said during a press conference to announce the fight.

"Whereas at the Hard Rock Stadium, Logan Paul talked a good game but didn't come to fight; he came to hold. So he's coming to fight, I'm coming to fight. Eight rounds, from start to finish, it's going to be explosive."

Mayweather and Moore sparred as professionals before the former retired with a pristine record of 50-0 after defeating Conor McGregor in 2017. Moore, on the other hand, won 18 of his 19 fights before retiring in 2016. "I'm pretty sure the first round is going to be a feel-out round," Mayweather added. "But it don't have to be a feel-out round. I pretty much know Don and he knows me.

"But we really don't know each other when the gloves are smaller and we're under the lights because when we're in the gym, we can work anyway kinda way we wanna work. But when it's for the people, we've got to give them a show."

The undercard on May 14 will feature UFC legend Anderson Silva who will meet fellow Brazilian MMA veteran Bruno Machado over eight rounds. Former boxing world champion Badou Jack, who is signed to Mayweather's promotional company, will also feature. He will take on Dubai resident Hany Atiyo who has lost three of his last five bouts.
