Floyd Mayweather hit with felony charges over alleged $200,000 bad check for luxury watch

  • Boxing icon Floyd Mayweather is facing two felony charges in Las Vegas for allegedly writing a fraudulent $200,000 check to purchase a luxury watch.
  • Prosecutors allege that in December 2024, Mayweather issued the check to designer resale store Gold and Beyond through Wells Fargo Bank despite having insufficient funds.
  • Mayweather was charged in April with theft and drawing and passing a check without sufficient funds with the intent to defraud.
  • An attorney represented Mayweather at his initial court appearance, and his case is now slated for a hearing in September.
  • These felony charges add to Mayweather's growing list of legal entanglements, which include rent disputes and financial disagreements with jewelers, even as he plans a return to competitive boxing.
