Floyd Mayweather dismisses "bull****" claim Logan Paul wasn't paid for exhibition

Floyd Mayweather has hit out at YouTube star Logan Paul by dismissing his "bull****" claim that he wasn't paid for their exhibition.

The boxing legend fought Paul in a hugely-successful exhibition last year which is said to have earned him £52million and his counterpart £15million. However, Paul claimed after the fight that he is yet to be paid in full for the meeting and has stated on multiple occasions that he intends to sue the undefeated former champion.

Mayweather has now leapt to his own defence for the second time, accusing Paul of searching for another payday. "This is the guy who said he didn't get paid which we know is truly false, which is why I don't entertain the bull**** a lot of the time," Mayweather said at the press conference to announce his latest exhibition fight, against Japanese mixed martial artist Mikuru Asakura.

"We know he got paid and if he didn't get paid he wouldn't be trying to get another payday. It is so crazy that Logan Paul wants to do an exhibition again but it is the same guy that said he didn't get paid. It is what it is."

Paul has reiterated his claim that Mayweather has not paid him for the fight on multiple occasions and has alleged he is still owed millions. The YouTube star confirmed his intention to seek legal action and recently sent a message to Mayweather asking him to pay the money on the one-year anniversary of their fight.

"I've not been paid in full, that is a fact," he said on The MMA Hour in February. "We're just trying to collect what is rightfully ours. He came out and said this is the name of the game, this is how it works in boxing but I don't know if it is, I don't know if that's true. I think after you fight you should get paid, it doesn't take this long to count the money.

"For the longest time I bit my f****** tongue. We heard it every week, 'The money's coming next week, the money's coming next week'. Three months in I realised the money's not coming next week, so I'm offended and I've been lied to. I never thought I'd be the 'Where's the money?' guy, but the only way to get this guy to move is to pipe up and embarrass him."

Mayweather has previously insisted that Paul must be patient in waiting for his money and has even claimed he has yet to receive full payment for fights during his professional career. The exhibition with Paul was the most-successful of the boxing legend's recent series, having sold around one million pay-per-view buys globally.

He since returned to the ring when he fought Don Moore in another lucrative bout which could have seen him earn up to $100 million ($83m). Paul has yet to confirm any official plans to return to the ring but his rival has claimed his team have been in touch over a potential rematch.
