Floyd Mayweather claims he earns $300million every month despite Jake Paul jibe

Floyd Mayweather has claimed that he earns $300million (£247m) every month despite Jake Paul 's allegation that the boxing legend is "broke".

Mayweather, 45, has been known for taking part in some of the most lucrative boxing bouts in history including the two highest-selling pay-per-views, against Manny Pacquiao and Conor McGregor. Since hanging up his gloves, he has continued to fight in money-spinning exhibition bouts, pocketing £52million when facing YouTube star Logan Paul last June.

Paul's brother Jake previously claimed Mayweather is "broke" after his high-profile sibling accused the former champion of not paying his purse in full, with plans to take legal action. In an interview with FightHub TV, the younger Paul said: “Floyd Mayweather is broke. That’s what a lot of people don’t realise. He gets these big cheques and doesn’t pay taxes on them.

"Then the IRS comes hunting him down later. He owes a lot of people I know money. Logan is deep down on that list. So, I don’t know if Logan will ever get paid. It’s kind of f***** up!”

Despite the claims made against him, Mayweather has declared that he will keep throwing financial support into boxing. “I will continue to give back to the sport of boxing in my time, and I will also give back financially because I got it,” Mayweather said at his first ballot induction after being named in the International Boxing Hall of Fame.

“To my team, my guys in New York, and my other real estate team that’s here today, we can’t be stopped. In 32 months, I put myself in a position with a smart business team to make $300m a month. It all started from the sport of boxing.”

Mayweather recently continued his road on the exhibition circuit, fighting sparring partner Don Moore during an event in which he may have earned a fight purse up to $100million (£81m). The boxing legend even recently claimed he had earned a further £1.2million to attend a press conference to announce his latest boxing showcase against Japanese MMA fighter Mikuru Asakura.

The boxing legend has strongly denied Paul's "broke" claim and has also dismissed his brother Logan's "bull****" accusation that he is yet to be paid for last year's successful bout. He is now estimated to have a net worth of over $1billion (£810m) from his boxing career, which saw him retire with an undefeated 50-0 record.

But Mayweather has been forced to respond to heavy criticism about his continued endeavours in exhibition boxing, claiming that other rich businessmen get away with the same behaviour. "[I'm going to] pick up a couple of dollars," he said in a video shared on social media. "They're upset because I'm smart, I kept all my faculties and made a lot of smart investments.

"When great people like Warren Buffett, Bill Gates, the Waltons, the people who own Walmart and Walgreens, when they're getting money in their 50s, their 60s, 70s, 80s, even 90s, it's ok. I was able to work my way up and leave boxing on my own terms."
