Floyd Mayweather boasts of "stealing" eight-figure purse from exhibition fight

Floyd Mayweather has boasted of "stealing" another $20million purse as he prepares for his latest exhibition against Mikuru Asakura.

The boxing legend will step into the ring for the fourth time since his his retirement from the professional ranks, when he touches gloves with Japanese MMA fighter Asakura this weekend. Mayweather has continued to fight in exhibition outings following his final clash against Conor McGregor, which he has revealed is largely down to the mega-money purses he has still been able to generate.

Mayweather has claimed he will earn another $20m payday from his latest nine-minute event, having already revealed he was paid $1.5m to attend the press conference. And while hitting the heavy bag during an open workout, the 47-year-old sent a boasting message to haters speaking down the lens of the camera: "Why do you keep doing exhibitions? Why do you keep stealing money? Get out of my business.

"Stay out of my money business and get yourself some money. This is so fun and so easy. Easy payday, easy pay cheque, easy opponent. That is all I do, line them up like bowling pins and I will knock them all down. And I am going to keep tricking them, you all keep fighting them hard fights but I'm gonna keep fighting in exhibitions and killing the game and stealing money. Legalised bank robbery, if you all keep paying I will keep playing."

He continued to do pad work and hit the bag in front of a huge crowd of media who surrounded the boxing legend, who is set to make his second exhibition appearance in Japan. Mayweather first knocked out kickboxer Tenshin Nasukawa in his first boxing showcase before moving on to his hugely successful clash with YouTube star Logan Paul which saw him pocket $65m.

His most recent outing saw him step in the ring with former sparring partner Don Moore earlier this year, which likely earned him at least another eight-figure purse before pay-per-view revenue. Mayweather has even claimed he is now earning $300m per month from all of his investments alongside his exhibition purses.

However he was unhappy at critics calling him out for his exhibition fights and believes the hate may be racially-motivated. "[I'm going to] pick up a couple of dollars," he said. "They're upset because I'm smart, I kept all my faculties and made a lot of smart investments.

"When great people like Warren Buffett, Bill Gates, the Waltons, the people who own Walmart and Walgreens, when they're getting money in their 50s, their 60s, 70s, 80s, even 90s, it's ok. But when a young kid like myself from the inner city, from the ghetto. I was able to work my way up and leave boxing on my own terms and keep all my faculties and kept all of my money."
