Flowers, a Liverpool FC scarf and a schoolboy's favourite drink have been left at the scene of a fatal crash in Walton.
People living on Abingdon Road rushed to give first-aid to the 10-year-old schoolboy after he was hit by a black Ford car just before 4.30pm on Thursday, April 20. Emergency services attended and the boy was taken to hospital, where he tragically died on Friday morning, Merseyside Police confirmed.
Since the news of the little boy's death people have paid tribute to him and sent well wishes to his family on social media. Dozens of tributes have also been left surrounding a tree just meters away from where the tragedy happened.

Crowds of people gathered at the tree after school on Friday (April 21) to leave more tributes. Some of the things left included colourful flowers with handwritten notes from other school children, Liverpool FC scarfs and tops and teddies.
One heartbreaking tribute left by one of the schoolboy's friends was a bottle of Body Fuel, a hydration drink, with a note attached to which read: "I'll miss your funny jokes and witty comments and doing cross country with you. Here's your favourite drink to take up with you. Love your friend Recce."
Other tributes read: "RIP Charlie. Gone but never forgotten, always in our hearts. YNWA" and "We miss you Charlie".
Detectives are appealing for witnesses to come forward. The driver of the Ford, who stopped at the scene, is currently helping with their enquires.
Detective Sergeant Amy Murray said: “Our thoughts and condolences are with the family of the boy who has sadly lost his life following a road collision on Thursday.
“The family are being supported by our specially trained liaison officers, and we have launched an investigation into his death.
“I urge anyone who witnessed or has information on this incident to please contact us. Alternatively, if you were driving in the vicinity I ask that you please check your dashcam footage for anything that have captured something which will assist in the investigation the incident.
“Every piece information or footage could be vital in establishing what happened."
