Florida shoppers and food businesses are being told to check for Mon Sire Brie, a soft-ripened French cheese recalled because of possible Listeria monocytogenes contamination. The recall by Optimus Inc., doing business as Markys Caviar, appears in the FDA's enforcement report database and covers two lots of 1-kilogram cheeses distributed in Florida.
The U.S. action follows recalls of the same brand in Australia and New Zealand in early September. Those recalls involved different dates, and no public notice has linked them to a single confirmed source.
