Florida Gov. DeSantis sues Biden seeking to stop vaccine mandate for federal contract workers

TALLAHASSEE, Fla. — Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis said Thursday the state filed suit against the federal government over a mandate that federal contractors require their employees to be vaccinated against COVID-19.

“They’re transforming normal contracting into basically public health policy,” DeSantis said at an event in Lakeland.

The mandate, stemming from President Joe Biden’s executive order earlier this year, exceeds federal authority, DeSantis said.
