A man from Florida says he’s stuck in a terrible situation after buying a car. The dealership gave his fully paid car back to the previous owner but kept his $30,000. Now he’s caught in legal trouble and is still missing his money.
According to Motor1, TikToker @diverseplug shared his story in a viral video series that got over 120,000 views. He explained what happened after he bought a car from a Miami dealership and paid the full amount. The dealership asked him to bring the car back for a “rebuilt inspection.” But after he dropped it off, something shocking happened.
The dealership gave his car back to the original owner while keeping his payment. He had to call the police and find the car himself. He’s recording everything to warn others about shady dealership tricks and help people avoid similar problems.
The police couldn’t help with this dealership dispute
He went back to the dealership with Miami police to confront them. But the officers gave him bad news. One officer told him he needs to sue the dealership for the money. The officer said it’s not theft because it’s a business deal between him and the dealership.
The TikTok video shows that the man argued it was fraud since he paid for the car and they took it away. Another officer explained to the dealership manager that the man bought a car, brought it back for inspection, and then they gave it back to the original owner. This isn’t the first time fraud cases have shocked people recently.
The police said this was a civil matter, which means he has to sue the dealership himself. Miami police wouldn’t let him file a police report. Now he’s waiting for the dealership to send the money back to his bank before he can buy another car. He’s left without the vehicle he paid for and without any answers.
In another video, dealership workers said they didn’t know the owner’s name. They also refused to give their own names after taking back the $30,000 car. The man is sharing his story so others know what can happen when things go wrong with a dealership. With scams becoming harder to spot, consumers need to stay alert.
In later videos, an officer said the dealership didn’t pay the previous owner for the car before selling it to him. When the prior owner wanted it back, the dealership tricked him into bringing it in and then returned it to them. The officer noted the vehicle is registered to him and told him to keep fighting for it.
