A Florida Christian school teacher was arrested this week after allegedly creating child sexual abuse materials using photos from the school yearbook and artificial intelligence (AI), according to authorities.
The Pasco County Sheriff’s Office reported that 67-year-old Steven Houser of New Port Richey is facing charges for possession of child pornography.
Deputies launched an investigation following a tip about Houser. The investigation revealed that Houser, a third-grade science teacher at Beacon Christian Academy, allegedly possessed two photos and three videos depicting child pornography. It is important to note that none of the images featured students from the school where he was employed.
In addition to the explicit materials found, Houser was also allegedly in possession of child erotic material generated using an AI computer program.
This disturbing incident highlights the importance of vigilance and thorough background checks when it comes to individuals working in educational settings. The safety and well-being of students must always be a top priority.
