Parts of the country, including the North West are at risk of flooding today.
Forecasters are reporting that river water levels remain high after a wet weekend and with more rain on the forecast, flooding is a possibility. Although there are no flood warnings currently in place for Merseyside, there is a yellow alert in place for Chester that extends to Little Sutton, Little Neston and Deeside.
The River Dee is at risk with the Met Office reporting that people should prepare themselves for some disruption. Across Merseyside on Monday, January 9, there will be spells of blustery showers and perhaps hail and thunder.

It will be cooler than last week, with highs of just 7C. Showers and strong winds will ease into the evening and it will feel colder with highs of 3C.
Tuesday will be wet again , though it will be overcast throughout with persistent rain and drizzle. Forecasters say it will be cooler again on Wednesday with blustery showers and sunny spells, with further persistent rain on Thursday.
The BBC weather outlook from Wednesday to Friday reads: "Unsettled weather will continue from Wednesday through Friday. Low pressure systems approaching from the Atlantic will bring strong winds on Wednesday and Friday, and showery periods.
"The showers will be heavy at times, but there will also be a few bright spells in-between. Wednesday night into Thursday morning looks to have a drier interlude, with winds easing for a time."
