SCOTS travelling by road, rail, or ferry have been urged to prepare for disruption as the first of two named storms sweeps across the country.
A Met Office yellow warning for rain came into force at 7am and lasts until midnight as Storm Austen hits Scotland, with the warning area stretching from as far south as the Borders and Dumfries and Galloway to Fraserburgh in Aberdeenshire.
