The boats in Penarth Marina are getting a number of swanky new neighbours in the form of floating hotel rooms. The rooms are part of the refurbishment of The Deck restaurant, which will also see a new look in its eating space.
Ten brand new luxurious bedrooms - single, twin and double rooms with ensuite facilities - mean customers can fall asleep to the serene sounds of gentle waves as they float on the water for an overnight experience like no other. The Deck has been closed since September to make way for this expansion and hopes it will add "just a little more sparkle and shine" as well as a "new experience". Alongside the rooms, which will be located on the pontoons alongside the floating Jetty Bar in pairs of two, the restaurant has also had a makeover.
It has been remodelled to enlarge the internal dining area which will also replace the outside section that was previously covered by plastic material. There will also be an outer balcony area so customers can enjoy those warmer nights. Philip Lay, director at Boatfolk - the company behind the marina - said: “We are thrilled to welcome the new luxurious floating bedrooms to the marina. The accommodation managed by The Deck will provide a unique and luxurious stay for guests looking to relax and unwind, with the benefit of The Deck’s fantastic bar and restaurant just a stone’s throw away. We expect the rooms will get booked up quickly!”
