"Loy Rim Lake" is the first official Loy Krathong celebration to be held at Impact Lakefront, Muang Thong Thani, on Monday and Tuesday, from 5-10pm.
This is a chance to float krathong baskets at the exclusive pier, which will also see an 8m-tall yellow rubber duck transformed into a giant yet adorable krathong floating in the middle of the lake.
Up to 1,350 environmental-friendly krathong of various choices, all made from natural materials, will be available for sale on both days. They include flower, sunflower, corn husk and duck krathong, with prices starting at 100 baht.
The duck krathong are biodegradable and made from bread, which will also become food for creatures in the lake. They come with two choices -- a single duck and double ducks.
There will be live music and outdoor movie screenings on both days. More than 30 booths will be set up to serve food, beverages and various kinds of snacks including French fries, meatballs, shaved ice, ice cream, takoyaki, salmon salad and cocktails.
Visitors will also enjoy shopping for handmade products, fashion items, clothing, bags, accessories, home decorative items and art pieces at a special zone where university students are allowed to come and sell their products without rental fees.
