Multi-award-winning M People star Heather Small and I'm a Celebrity...Get Me Out of Here! star Fleur East are set to perform at the Women’s Football Awards later this month.
Moving On Up singer Heather is set to take centre stage at the glitzy ceremony at London’s Nobu Hotel at the star-studded gathering hosted by former footballers Eni Anulo and Jamie Carragher.
Hits Radio presenter Fleur, who rose to fame on The X Factor, is also set to play a DJ set for the celebrity audience as sports stars come together for a night celebrating achievements in women’s football.
The Women’s Football Awards will celebrate the people, brands and organisations who are contributing to the phenomenal growth of the sport. It is the first time that every level of women's football will be celebrated at one event and come’s ahead of the 2023 Women’s World Cup taking place this summer.
Broadcasters Alex Scott, Faye Carruthers and Kate Abdo are all shortlisted for awards are some of the male footballers who’ve supported the growth of the women's game including Tottenham star Harry Kane, Arsenal’s Rob Holding and West Ham’s Declan Rice.
Speaking ahead of performing at the event on May 25, Heather said: "The Women’s Football Awards will help shine a light on all aspects of women’s football from grassroots greatness to the heroes on the field.
"This is the first-ever Women’s Football Awards and I am excited to be part of it. I am looking forward to helping the nominees and winners celebrate on the night."
Women’s Football Awards host, Eni, added: "It is a major coup to have award-winning artist Heather Small perform. She is one of the most recognisable names in British music, who has had a number of tracks which have topped the charts.
"I’m delighted Fleur East will be joining us too. This is going to be a fantastic night."
Lionesses Mary Earps, Alessia Russo and Leah Williamson are among the big names nominated in the Player of the Year category, while former Arsenal striker Ian Wright and Karen Carney, who played in a minefield for Chelsea, are shortlisted for Women’s Football Champion of the Year.
Brands and organisations which have helped advance the sport for women are also set to be recognised at the event which will also raise money for Ovarian Cancer Action and Football For Change.
The Women’s Football Awards, supported by SHEIN, will take place on 25 May.
