Flesh-eating sea lice are biting swimmers in UK seafront lakes - with families being urged to stay away.

Swimmers using both Marine Lake in North Somerset and Marine Lake in Weston-super-Mare have reported being ‘bitten’ while taking a dip in the pools.

Some have reported feeling ‘stings’ and ‘nips’ when in the water, with some being left with red patches on their skin.
