A fleeing suspect fell off an illegal electric scooter during a police chase.

Graham McCarthy, 43, of Denstone Road, Nottingham, was spotted by officers riding the e-scooter towarrds the city centre.

He was believed to have links to drug supply and was told to pull over but refused. Nottinghamshire Police say a 10-minute pursuit followed, during which he swore at officers and weaved "dangerously" through traffic and pedestrians.

The chase ended when he lost control at over 20mph trying to pass a bus.

McCarthy pleaded guilty to dangerous driving, driving without insurance, driving without a licence, criminal damage, and possessing Class B drugs with intent to supply.

On Monday (16 March), he was jailed for 75 weeks and disqualified from driving for 19 months.
