Flat owners told to pay £11,000 for £1.2million repairs despite service charges

Homeowners in a block of flats ordered to pay £11,000 each by the end of the month for “essential repairs” have vowed to not pay a penny.

The residents in Marine Crescent, Folkestone, have been told to pay as soon as “practically possible”, but say they already pay a service charge, which should cover the £1.2million cost.

As a result many people have said they will not pay towards the works.
