On the first day of the legal tampering period, the New York Giants were fairly quiet prior to making the big splash with the addition of former Indianapolis Colts linebacker Bobby Okereke.
Okereke, who agreed to a four-year deal with Big Blue, is a name Daniel Jones and the Giants are familiar with from his Week 17 performance at MetLife Stadium against Big Blue.
Okereke was all over the stats sheet and was particularly involved in the fourth quarter. The first play, a read option that Okereke anticipated perfectly, stopping Jones for no gain.

Two plays later, Okereke was flagged for unnecessary roughness after hitting Jones as he was sliding.

Jones got the last laugh, meeting Okereke at the goal line and scoring his fourth touchdown of the day (second on the ground).

That touchdown put the Giants up 38-10, capping a dominating win and giving them their first postseason berth since 2016.
In a losing effort, Okereke’s 17-tackle performance contributed to a career-high 151 total tackle season. Clearly, the Giants are getting a playmaker if Week 17 and his 2022 campaign are a sign of things to come from Okereke.
