Flash Floods Batter Zion, Bryce Canyon and Capitol Reef as Utah's Monsoon Turns Deadly at the Grand Canyon

Monsoon storms battered southern Utah for five straight days last week, pushing rivers toward record highs in three national parks and closing trails and highways from Springdale to Torrey. Just across the state line, the same weather system produced the deadliest flooding the Grand Canyon has seen in decades, killing at least two people and leaving rescue crews racing to account for more than a dozen others.
