Flames leap from Scots tower block as fire crews tackle large blaze at high rise flats

Hero firefighters are currently tackling a large fire which has broken out at a high rise block of flats in Glasgow.

Emergency services were called to the scene on Tinwald Path, in Hillington, at around 8.20pm on Sunday.

Glasgow Live reports four appliances from the Scottish Fire and Rescue Service (SFRS) are currently in attendance as they work to bring the blaze under control.

A fourth floor flat is believed to be worst affected however there are no reports of any injuries at present.

A SFRS spokeswoman said: "We are currently in attendance at a fire on Tinwald Path in Glasgow.

“We were alerted to the scene at 20:17pm this evening. Four appliances were mobilised to the scene."

Police Scotland have also been contacted for comment.
