A lemur who is “one of the oldest” in the UK has celebrated his birthday at a West Lothian zoo.
Five Sisters Zoo shared photographs of Stumpy the ring-tailed lemur enjoying his 37th birthday on June 14 when he was treated to a party with his sons, complete with a birthday cake.
In the snaps, Stumpy can be seen chowing down on the cake — which spells out the number 37 with carrots.
Taking to Facebook, Five Sisters Zoo wrote: “Happy 37th birthday to our ring-tailed lemur, Stumpy!
“Born in 1986, we believe Stumpy to be one of the oldest lemurs in the UK. He celebrated with a cake made by our keeper Kathryn, which he shared with his three sons.”
With the average life expectancy for ring-tailed lemurs being approximately 20 to 25 years old, Stumpy has more than earned celebrating his lovely birthday party with his family.
