Five people will be charged in relation to the disappearance and suspected murder of an Adelaide man in 2020, South Australia Police say.
Robert Atkins was 32 years old when he was first reported missing by his mother.
Police will charge four men and a woman on Wednesday, four of whom are already in custody.
A 32-year-old man is expected to be charged with murder, while the remaining four face a range of offences including unlawful detention and causing harm with intent.
Detective Chief Inspector Brett Featherby alleged that Mr Atkins was held "under physical and coercive control" between November 8 and 16, 2020.
Mr Atkins was physically assaulted at Christies Downs, Seaford and North Plympton when he was held for over a week, police say.
Then he was taken to the Mid North where police alleged he was murdered and buried on November 16, 2020.
Police searched an area between Peterborough and Orroroo, in the state's mid-north, seeking the body of Mr Atkins last year, but that yielded no findings.
"We are still investigating the role of other people in the disposal of his body or those that have assisted in his unlawful detention and assaults [on him] and subsequent murder," Detective Chief Inspector Featherby said.
"All those people will be charged this evening and bail will be refused and it's anticipated they will appear in the Adelaide Magistrates Court tomorrow [Thursday].
"We're still investigating those who have been disposing of evidence in relation to his murder, and in particular, a firearm and ammunition in the Mid North.
The disappearance of Mr Atkins was investigated as part of Taskforce Southern that also looked into the deaths of two other men.
"We are aware that there are people in the community who have further information who haven't yet come forward or given us a full account," Detective Chief Inspector Featherby said.
"Taskforce Southern will be continuing and is ongoing in relation to the murders of Jeff Mundy and the murder, assault and unlawful detention of Trevor King."
Taskforce Southern has resulted in 283 charges laid against 33 people for offences including drug trafficking and perverting the course of justice, police say.
Ten people were charged with possession of firearms and two others charged with trafficking of firearms under the taskforce's investigation.
