Five people killed in avalanche at Austrian ski resort

Tyrol

An avalanche killed five peopl e in the Austrian state of Tyrol on Friday, state police said.

The avalanche occurred near the Austrian-Swiss border in the Spiss municipality, Tyrol's emergency control centre confirmed on Friday afternoon.

Information about the identities and nationalities of the victims was not immediately available.
