Five of our favourite summer fashion finds from the UK’s largest roaming Vintage Fair

The UK’s largest roaming vintage fair landed in Manchester this bank holiday this weekend and hundreds of fashion lovers turned out to try and bag themselves a bargain. Lou Lou’s Vintage Fair is famous across the nation and boasts dozens of vintage traders selling clothing, accessories, home and collectables from the 1940s right through to the 1980s.

Vintage shops are a hotspot for sustainable shoppers looking to elevate their style, typically for a bargain price.

The fair, which has previously been voted ‘The Best Vintage Fair in the UK’, took place in the Manchester Cathedral on bank holiday Monday and showcased over 40 stalls.

Here are five of the best fashion finds I found at the fair

Adidas puffer jacket

Festival season is approaching and people are on the lookout for unique pieces to wear for the weekend.

While the weather so far has been extremely sunny and warm, festival goers need to prepare for all types of weather.

Puffer jackets are a festival essential and when I spotted this cropped Adidas puffer jacket for £30 at the fair, I thought it was just perfect for any festival goer.

The jacket from Nostalgia vintage streetwear also looked brand new - like it had never been worn, which is a bonus for anyone looking to buy pre-loved clothes.

Tie dye t-shirts

Another festival basic and essential tee for Summer are tie dye shirts.

There was a wide range of tie dye tops from £15 perfect for men and women.

The Retro Swag vintage shirts are ideal for adding a touch of Summer eccentricity and colour.

Patterned shirts

If retro shirts are your thing, the fair had bargain offers on a range of different patterned unisex shirts for a bargain price.

One seller had a variety of shirts which could be worn as cropped or full length. While one of the vintage style shirts cost £17, you could get two for £35.

It can be hard to find vintage pieces in a size that suits you, so it was nice to see that the stall catered for a variety of sizes.

Long skirts

The latest fashion trend emerging this Summer are long styled shirts. From denim skirts to cargo skirts, Vogue has dubbed 2023 as the year of the maxi skirt.

There were loads of maxi skirts available from a multitude of vintage sellers across the fair, and Retro Rehab was one store that had plenty to offer.

This colourful patterned skirt that contained blues and pinks is a stunning maxi skirt for a Summer’s day, and paired with a blue body suit it would make a stunning bright outfit for a sunny day.

Vintage handbag

One thing I noticed about the fair was that there was an abundance of chic and stylish handbags.

The ones I looked at were in immaculate condition and in particular, this bright orange leather bag had caught my eye.

The handbag gave such an 80s vibe and was probably one of the best items I found at the fair.

It’s slightly pricier at £50, however, it’s clear the bag definitely withstands time and in the world of vintage, it’s an absolute steal.

Lou Lou’s Vintage Fair returns to Manchester Cathedral on Saturday, July 29 from 10am-4pm.
