A five-month-old baby has been rushed to hospital after a reported dog attack, with the animal being seized by police officers.
Police were called to an address in Penyrheol in the Welsh town of Caerphilly, at around 9.10am on Saturday, April 29, following reports of a dog attack. Paramedics from the Welsh Ambulance Service also attended and a five-month-old baby was taken to hospital with non-life threatening injuries.
No other animals were involved in the attack, Wales Online reports.

The incident is the third report of a dog attack in recent years in the area. Ten-year-old Jack Lis died on November 8, 2021 after being attacked at a friend’s house in Pentwyn, Penyrheol.
Brandon Hayden, 19, and Amy Salter, 29, pleaded guilty to being in charge of a dangerously out of control dog which caused severe injuries to Jack's head and neck. Shirley Patrick, 83, died in hospital after being savaged by a dog at an address in Heol Fawr, Penyrheol on December 3 last year.
Chief Inspector Laura Bartley said: “Officers will be making further enquiries at this time and will remain at the scene as the investigation progresses. It is possible that you may see ongoing police activity in Caerphilly as part of this work, but please do not be alarmed. If you have concerns or information then please do stop and talk with us.”
A Gwent Police spokesperson said: "We were called to an address in Penyrheol, Caerphilly at around 9.10am on Saturday April 29, following reports of a dog attack.
"Officers attended, alongside paramedics from the Welsh Ambulance Service, a five-month-old baby was taken to hospital with non-life threatening injuries. The dog was seized by officers. No other animals were involved in the attack."
