World Cup glory beckons as England look to make it to a consecutive World Cup semi-final. Christmas festivities are truly underway with the Luna Cinema returning to St George's Hall.

Many will have been disappointed to see England crash out of the World Cup last night as they lost 2-1 to France. France will now take on Morrocco on Wednesday, December, 14 with kick-off at 7pm.

The Luna Cinema at St George's Hall
The stunning hall with its imposing organ will once again be transformed into a magical festive cinema. Christmas classics from Elf to Home Alone, It’s A Wonderful Life to The Muppet’s Christmas Carol, will be shown. It will run until December 23.

Liverpool Council meeting of the cabinet
It has been a troubled few months for Liverpool City Council and in the next four months, Liverpool Council has to find ways to plug a £73m funding shortfall, with warnings of service cuts and job losses on the horizon. It is shaping up to be another decisive cabinet meeting that could have ramifications across the city. The meeting will take place on Friday, 16.

Winter Wonderlight
As night falls on the historic gardens of Thornton Manor in Wirral the grounds will be transformed into a visually, multi-sensory walk-through of Santa's wonderland. Stroll under the stars beneath magically illuminated tree canopies transformed by moving light as you wind your way along a shimmering path through spectacles of sight and sound to thrill the senses.
The event will run until January 2, 2023.
Nurses to strike
Nurses will stage the first national strike in the history of the Royal College of Nursing (RCN) in December. Up to 100,000 members will walk out at 65 NHS organisations on 15 and 20 December for 12 hours at a time. The strikes will take place between 8am and 8pm on both days.
