Regardless of the time of year, there are always dogs needing to find new owners and their forever home.
There are many four legged furry friends across Glasgow, and the UK as a whole, who deserve a loving family whether you live on your own or have kids who want a dog just as much as you.
But if you're anything like us, all you want to do is buy a large piece of land and adopt all the dogs in the world, not to mention the cute dogs we see in cafes that we would happily take home.
Despite people wanting a furry companion and loving them like a family member, some people have to give up their dogs due to a number of reasons, whether its down to their own health or financial situation meaning they can no longer afford to look after them.
In situations such as these, Dog's Trust are called upon to provide temporary homes for many - from young pups to dogs a little later in their lives. And quite often many of them are sadly left looking for a home for weeks or even months.
So, here are five adorable pets that are in need of a new forever home, according to the Dog's Trust website.
Toby
Breed: Collie Cross (border)
Sex: Male
Age: 8 + years
Size: Medium
May live with: Secondary school age children.

Toby's ideal home
Toby would prefer to have someone around for most of the day to help him settle. However, once housetrained, he could be left for a couple of hours. Toby will need positive reinforcement-based training and a hands-off owner who can give him some space, he will also require direct access to his own secure garden with a 5ft fence.
When taking him out in public, he must be kept on a lead and wear a muzzle in situations he may find overwhelming such as at the vet.
Dog's Trust say he is a really sweet boy and in the right home, will make a wonderful companion with him having stolen a few hearts at the Glasgow centre.

Jack
Breed: Crossbreed

Jack is said to be a fun, loving and energetic dog who is looking for a home with a family that has owned a dog like him before.
He is happy to walk in quiet areas where he can relax and enjoy exploring with his new family.
They add: "He can live with children aged 16 years & above and this does include visiting. Jack will need a home with its own secure private garden with a 6ft fence where he can run around and spend lots of time with his new family as when he is out in public he must be kept on lead and muzzle. Don’t let that put you off this wonderful boy though as he will make a brilliant addition to a family."

Jupiter

Jupiter is looking for an adult only home with people who are 18 years and older with no visiting children.
He can get anxious when there are other dogs or people in view which and Dog's Trust are therefore asking for a quiet home. He will need to be kept on lead and wearing a muzzle when in public places, however, this is said to be a normal part of his routine.
He will require access to his own secure private garden with 6ft fence to enjoy some off lead time and won't require a muzzle for this. Once settled down in his new home, he can be left alone for a few hours.
Jupiter is really friendly with people he knows and loves playing games, getting back scratches and snuggling on the sofa.

Monty

Monty is an active and clever dog who loves the outdoors. This means he must have direct access to his own private garden with a 6ft fence and must be kept on lead when in public.
Monty will need to be the only dog in the home and cannot live with cats. He must also live with older children aged 18 years or over with no visiting children.
Monty needs to build a relationship with his new owners before he goes home therefore keen adopters looking to take him home would require visiting him multiple times, remain hands off and take things at a pace that suits him. Despite this, Dog's Trust say that they find "once he knows you he is very snuggly and loves to get fuss and attention. He will make a great addition in the right home and it will be a very rewarding experience for all to finally see him settled and happy in a home."

Cole
Breed: Lab Cross

Age: 1- 2 years

Cole is an extremely intelligent and driven young dog who is looking for an active family that are willing to work on his training by using positive and gentle training methods.
Like other dogs, he requires direct access to a private garden fully secured by a 6ft fence as it will allow him to "continue his training and have some time off lead as Cole will be unable to be let off lead in public places."
He cannot live with other animals or children under 16. However, when it comes to other dogs, he has no problems and is said to love making other dog friends whilst out on walks.

Owners should be reminded that dogs should be chosen based on the premise that they are a good match for you and that they suit around your lifestyle such as working from home or the office, and whether you have access to a garden.
