This week is going to be a scorcher, with temperatures rivalling the likes of the Algarve and, fingers crossed, lasting for the whole week too.
And with blue skies and soaring mercury, thoughts inevitably turn to a quick couple after work, as well they should. Here are some of the best spots to drink in the rays. And the drinks.

Climat
Climat opened in the depths of winter, with patrons pawing sadly at the window at the sight of their roof terrace being hammered with rain and bitten by frost. Well now it’s in its element. This smart spot with views across the city has one of the best outdoor spaces in town, and some of the very best cocktails too.

20 Stories
Well known for its fabulous outside space, 20 Stories is another place with those enviable views over the city, with a 360 terrace 20 floors up. Grab a spot as the sun starts to dip, and then dip into their drinks menu, from high-end signature cocktails and craft beers to a range of great wines by the glass.
1 Hardman Square, Manchester M3 3EB
YES
Made for weeks like this, the upstairs terrace at YES might not have the views, but it has the vibes, with music fans stacked over its four floors pouring out into the warm evening air on the roof. Share a bierkeller bench and indulge in a wildly reasonably priced pint of Amstel or one of the many cocktails on tap.
38 Charles St, Manchester M1 7DB
Brickhouse Social
Brickhouse’s fantastic terrace is festooned with plants and beams to provide a bit of shade when it’s baking outside. It’s a bit of a hidden gem, really, so perhaps keep it to yourself in case it gets overrun.
11-13 New Wakefield St, Manchester M1 5NP
Doghouse
The Brewdog hotel, aka Doghouse, has a not-much-shouted-about roof terrace, just moments away from the general madness of Market Street (not to mention a fair bit of outside space at the front too). Head upstairs and make a dent in some of those Brewdog brews, or one of the many visiting craft ales, with a decent range of low and no-booze on offer too.
18-20 Fountain St, Manchester M2 2AR
