Chelsea's Premier League 2 side are in action tonight in their second game of the season away to local London rivals Fulham FC and unlike the first game of the season, certain first-team players feature at Kingsmeadow.
Various first-team players were not in the squad for Sunday's 2-2 draw in West London against Tottenham Hotspur and the reason for that was manager Thomas Tuchel wanted to give each of them chance to build up minutes and fitness with the development squad. Each of Callum Hudson-Odoi, Carney Chukwuemeka, Trevoh Chalobah, Ethan Ampadu, Harvey Vale and Ben Chilwell were in line to feature but two of the six misses out as a potential big transfer hint has been dropped in the process.
Hudson-Odoi doesn't make the squad for this West London derby as it was reported earlier that developments on a loan move have happened over the last 24 hours, so the club do not want him to risk an unnecessary injury in this one. Vale is also not in the squad with a big decision pending on his immediate future. Four out of the six options do start though in a game that manager Tuchel will be keeping a close eye on, especially with the rumours on the transfer front surrounding Ampadu and Chalobah. Both of whom have been linked with various loan moves.
